The Anambra State security outfit, Operation Udo Ga-Achi (Agunechemba), has demolished Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, popularly known as “La Cruise Hotel,” along Onitsha-Owerri Road.

Authorities uncovered shocking evidence linking the hotel to criminal activities, including kidnapping and ritual killings.

During the raid, security operatives discovered over 30 partitioned graves on the top floor, a shrine, live ammunition, and other incriminating items.

According to Vanguard, blood-stained objects and live cartridges were recovered and handed over to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) office in Awkuzu.

A video from the operation showed the security team removing a pot used for rituals, allegedly containing blood.

The team leader confirmed that the shrine and graves were used for spiritual activities.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, confirmed that investigations had exposed the hotel as a kidnappers’ den.

He revealed that residents had long complained about gunshots at night but feared reporting due to possible reprisals.

The demolition was carried out under the new Homeland Security Law of 2025, which empowers authorities to crack down on criminal hideouts.

Aburime assured that more buildings linked to crimes such as kidnapping and hired killings would be demolished, and their owners prosecuted.

Local residents praised the government’s decisive action, expressing relief that a long-standing security threat had been eliminated.
